In the period between January and July of this year the carriers transported more than 138.5 tonnes of goods. The transport service was at the level of over 33 billion tonne-kilometres and operational performance - 48.3 million trainkilometres. This means a decrease of given numbers in comparison to the corresponding period of last year by 4.51%, 3.61% and 4.63% respectively.
- Although one may have observed a decrease in the level of transported goods, the data for the seven months of 2019 shows that it is still a better result than the average amount of such services in the years 2014-2018. One should also bear in mind that goods transport means nowadays more and more intermodal transport, which has recently been in steady development - summarized Mr. Ignacy Góra, Sc. D., President of the Office of Rail Transport.
