Statistics for rail passenger transport in March 2016 and 1st quarter of 2016

12.05.2016

Monthly statistics including data for March 2016 have been published, so the complete data for the 1st quarter of 2016 is available.

The number of passengers in March 2016 rose by 1,7% in comparison to March 2015; transport performance grew by 10,15%, which means that growths in March were weaker than in January and February. Taking the 1st quarter of 2016 into consideration, the number of passengers increased by 4,6% and transport performance rose by 11,7%. This shows that long-distance journeys continue to rebound, especially after the introduction of new EMU trains in December 2015 and throughout the 1st quarter of 2016.
