The Office of Rail Transport at TRAKO traditionally had a joint stand with the Ministry of Infrastructure, the Centre for EU Transport Projects and the Railway Institute. However, this year's rail industry trade fair in Gdansk was unique in that at the Office’s stand there was also an opportunity to talk to staff from the European Union Agency for Railways.
TRAKO was also an opportunity for the President of the Office of Rail Transport and the Executive Director of ERA to talk. Topics discussed during the meeting included the notification of national technical regulations for fixed installation subsystems, traceability of interoperability constituents and automatic digital coupling.
Visitors at the TRAKO Fair had the opportunity to see a mobile simulator which was a replica of the simulators used in the examination process of train driver candidates, which was implemented as part of the “Improving railway safety through the construction of a Train Driver Examination and Monitoring System” project. The project is co-financed by the European Union from the Cohesion Fund under the Operational Programme Infrastructure and Environment 2014-2020.
TRAKO is the largest and most prestigious rail transport industry meeting in Poland and the second in Europe. It presents the current level of development of transport systems and rail infrastructure in Poland, Europe and the world.
