From 1st February 2022 railway vehicles in Poland can be registered via the European Vehicle Register (EVR) only. The register is kept by the European Union Agency for Railways, but applications are still submitted to the Office of Rail Transport.
As announced earlier, all complete applications submitted by 17 January 2022 were dealt with before deactivation of the National Vehicle Register. Moreover, many applications submitted after that date and requesting assignment of EVNs, were also processed. The NVR system was switched off on 27 January 2022.
The seamless migration of data from the national base to the European one and successful processing of the first applications in EVR show that Office of Rail Transport is a modern public office. We were the first in Europe to fully implement EVR and we were the first to process requests for data change, booking and assigning EVNs in the new European database. This process was preceded by many months of testing versions of the register and several intensive weeks of dealing with applications for vehicle registration in the National Vehicle Register (NVR) - comments Ignacy Góra, President of the Office of Rail Transport.
On 1st February 2022 the European Union Agency for Railways announced the launch of the production version of the EVR register. On the same day, the Office of Rail Transport has already processed several applications.
