Summary of intermodal services in 2015

Statistics on intermodal services with the use of rail transport in 2015 have been published on the website.

In the 4th quarter of 2015, intermodal services recorded significant increases in comparison to the relevant period of 2014, from 14,4% in terms of weight to 16,6% in terms of number of transported units.

Taking into consideration the whole year 2015, weight of transported goods grew by 8%; transport performance by 9,3%; number of transported units by 6,5% and TEU by 3,4%. The share of 20’ and 30’ containers was increased, while the share of bigger containers fell, though 40’ containers were still the most popular. The average distance of intermodal transport rose for the first time since 2010, from 354 km to 358 km.
