Monthly statistics including data for December have been published, so the complete data for 2015 is available. Statistics are divided into passenger and freight segments.
The number of passengers in December 2015 rose by 9,6% in comparison to December 2014, which was the biggest monthly increase in 2015. Transport performance grew by as much as 16,5%, which was also the highest growth in 2015. Taking the whole 2015 into consideration, the number of passengers increased by 4,2% and reached the highest level since 2012. Transport performance rose by 9,2% which shows that long-distance journeys rebounded after modernization works were finished on some crucial routes. The average distance travelled by one passenger in 2015 was 62,7 km, while in 2014 it was 59,7 km.
The weight of transported cargo fell in December by 0,9%, while transport performance grew by 4%. Taking the whole year 2015 into consideration, weight of transported cargo decreased by 1,8% and transport performance rose by 1%. The average distance of transport increased on the year to year basis from 218,9 km in 2014 to 225,2 km in 2015.
