24.03.2022

Consultations on the revision of the Technical Specifications for Interoperability has been launched. On 18 March 2022 the European Union Agency for Railways published proposals for changes to the TSI. Comments can be submitted on the Agency's website for the next 3 months.

The TSI update process is at its final phase. From 18 March 2022 consultations on the proposed changes to the rules began. For 3 months stakeholders can comment on the suggested changes. The Agency plans to submit final recommendations to the European Commission by the end of June, while the new rules are scheduled to enter into force in early 2023.

The TSI update will enable further harmonisation of industry specifications, which will have a positive impact on the flexibility, efficiency and reliability of railways in Europe. The regulatory changes will also help deliver the European Green Deal, so these are the next steps towards achieving EU climate neutrality. Moreover, they also include proposals for development of intermodal transport, implementation of ERTMS or derailment avoidance functions.

The consultations are an excellent opportunity for the rail industry to present its views on the proposed changes to the TSI. We encourage all companies from the rail sector in Poland to analyse the new regulations and submit their suggestions. Your active participation in the consultation process is essential, as the revision of the TSI will have an impact on the rail industry across Europe.

The consultation has been launched on the European Union Agency for Railways website:
