Employees of the Office, railway companies and many blood donors not associated with the railway industry took part in the special edition of our campaign “Kolejowa Kropla Krwi”. We organized the event in cooperation with the Military Centre for Blood Donation and Haemotherapy SP ZOZ.
The blood was collected in a bus parked in front of set up near the Office of Rail Transport headquarters in Warsaw. 24 litres - that's exactly how much blood was collected. The donated blood will help over 40 people, which proves the undoubted success of the campaign.
It is hard to believe in the results of today's action. Almost 100 people volunteered to donate blood, and despite the fact that some of them were not qualified for various reasons, 24 litres of this precious liquid were collected. This is a record in the campaign which we have been organising since 2017. It is encouraging that our society wants to help and is able to show solidarity with those in need. Especially now we might need this blood. - commented Ignacy Góra, President of the Office of Rail Transport.
The success of the special edition of “Kolejowa Kropla Krwi” campaign is primarily due to the blood donors, but also to the Ministry of Infrastructure and railway companies which joined in the campaign. The quick organisation of the blood collection would also not have been possible without the full involvement of the Military Centre for Blood Donation and Haemotherapy SP ZOZ.
