The Office of Rail Transport organises 5th blood donation campaign. You can give blood on 24 August in an ambulance which will be located near the Office of Rail Transport headquarters at Aleje Jerozolimskie 134 in Warsaw. Those willing to donate blood are invited to register to participate in the action via an interactive form.

Blood is a priceless medicine that has no substitute, because no substitute has yet been invented. Blood donation is an irreplaceable treatment, but also a noble idea of sharing with another person. It is giving a part of yourself to save the health and life of those in need.

The Office of Rail Transport has been supporting the idea of donating blood. For 5 years we are organizing the blood donation campaign - Kolejowa Kropla Krwi. This year's event will take place on 24 August. It will be organized in cooperation with the Railway Blood Service and the Regional Centre for Blood Donation and Blood Treatment in Warsaw.

Due to the coronavirus epidemic you will be able to donate blood in an ambulance near the Office of Rail Transport headquarters from 9.00 a.m. The ambulance will be provided by the Regional Centre for Blood Donation and Blood Treatment bus and will stop in the car park at Aleje Jerozolimskie 134, near the Warszawa Zachodnia railway station.

- I encourage you to participate in this year's campaign. Blood is especially needed during the holiday season. Donating it on is a proof of human solidarity and sensitivity – points out Ignacy Góra, President of the Office of Rail Transport. - In the 4th edition of our campaign we had almost 40 blood donors. In total, blood which has been collected in our campaigns can save lives of 300 people. These numbers show that our commitment is important - he adds.

When preparing to donate blood, you should remember that blood can be donated by any adult and healthy person who did not have any disqualifying causes. Details can be found on the website of the Regional Centre for Blood Donation and Blood Treatment. You can also be a blood donor after vaccination against COVID-19. Depending on the vaccine, this period will vary - from 48 hours for mRNA vaccines to 2 weeks for other vaccines.

- We invite all railway sector professionals and any person who is willing to help those in need to participate in our campaign. Blood is a precious gift. By donating it, we save lives. Sharing it is a symbol of life, sacrifice and heroism - encourages Ignacy Góra.
