Over two million passengers more than a year before - that's the result of passenger carriers' performance in January of 2020. Operational and transfer service also rising. Freight transfer service has however witnessed a decline.

In the first month of 2020 almost 28,6 million passengers travelled by rail, which means a rise by 7.7% in comparison to January of 2019. The January data shows that the 2019/2020 timetable has brought a rise of the numbers of transport services, as provided by some carriers. Average distance travelled by one passenger in January amounted to 60 km. - The offer of railway services has become more attractive for the passengers. There are more trains and I am certain that the entire year 2020 should bring growth in the number of railway passengers - foresees Mr. Ignacy Góra, Ph.D., the President of the Office of Rail Transport.
