Małgorzata Kalata is a graduate of the University of Management and Marketing in Warsaw (Faculty of Management and Marketing in the field of finance management). In 2000 she passed an examination for candidates for supervisory board members of State Treasury companies. In 2004 she completed postgraduate studies in the field of accounting and finances. Furthermore, in 2007 she obtained postgraduate degree in internal audit and compliance control in the public finance sector.
From 1989 to 2002 Małgorzata Kalata worked for KZA Zielonka Sygnalizacja Teletechnika Automatyka S.A. and her last position in this company was a deputy accounting officer. In 2003 she started her work in the Ministry of Infrastructure (Bureau for International Transport) as the Manager of Financial and Accountancy Team. As a result of the amendment of the Road Transport Act (2010) she became a worker of The General Inspectorate of Road Transport, where she worked until 2013.
In September 2013 she moved to the Office of Rail Transport (UTK) to the position of Deputy Director of Administrative and Financial Office, where her scope of duties included, among other things, supervision over the work of the Financial Team. She was also responsible for decisions on the proper spending of budget resources, took part in preparing materials for the state budget project and reports on the implementation of the state budget, analyzed and evaluated the financial processes taking place at the Office of Rail Transport. In February 2016, she was appointed to the position of Director of the Administrative and Financial Office.
On September 4, 2017 Małgorzata Kalata was appointed by the President of UTK for the position of the General Director of the Office of Rail Transport (UTK).
